In conjunction with the Product-Life Institute (Geneva, Switzerland), approximately 10 to 12 carefully vetted students are being offered the chance to enroll in an internship program designed to provide hands-on experience with waste minimization as a means of understanding the importance (and broadness) of sustainable business development.

To date, we have shown over 100 businesses (the majority are SME's) in eleven countries how they can save millions of dollars per year by reducing waste and wasteful practices (a first step toward sustainability).

Qualifications for entry into the internship program include:

1. maintaining a high grade point average,
2. successful completion of the course Managing the New Frontiers,
3. a profound and dedicated interest in efficiency, sustainability, and waste reduction,
4. a willingness to commit to hard work, and,
5. the proven ability to conduct (and complete) individual assignments as well as perform structured, professional assessments with others as part of a team.

Please note that this internship program is assignment-based, which means that students are assigned work challenges that are expected to be completed over the course of one year in compliance with a given deadline.

In general, the work involved encompasses two stages.

Stage 1: students are required to translate research documents, case studies, and education information into other languages for the world's business communities. (In lieu of translations, some students will be asked to help market, distribute, and promote translated material.)
Stage 2: includes the completion of a comprehensive training program that involves conducting efficiency and waste reduction evaluations in a variety of business settings (manufacturing, retail, office, etc...).

The overall purpose of the program is to help businesses help themselves reduce waste and energy needs, cut costs and raw material use (without decreasing quality), and create the potential for job growth -- with the added bonus of reducing pollution and toxic emissions.
