Principles of Management
The purpose of this course is to introduce the general issues, theories, and philosophies of basic business management to the first year university student.
Please note that missing more than two class sessions will result in dismissal from the course.
Course Text: The Concise Handbook of Management by Jonathan T. Scott (Haworth Press, New York, 2005).
Measurement of Student Performance: Students are assessed with a mid-term exam and a final exam each of which accounts for 50% of the final grade. If a student fails either exam, he or she, in accordance with university policies, is entitled to take another exam in its place. Please note, however, that the grade from the re-take exam wil be averaged with the grade from the failed exam.
